Re: Time to Act on Sustainable Agriculture
More than a hundred civil society organizations have submitted a document entitled "Time to Act – Agriculture and Food Security and Rio+20" as input to the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development which will be held in Brazil in 2012 (the conference is also known as the Rio+20 conference).
The submission is based on the attached document, which outlines the key actions that are needed to transform existing industrial food systems and other unsustainable practices that are causing dramatic environmental damage and substantially contributing to climate change, to viable food systems based on agroecological and other forms of sustainable production.
