[…] On International Women’s Day, an urgent call has been made for African food sovereignty movements to connect with radical feminist movements to rebuild local food and seed systems, based on smallholder women farmers’ key role in agriculture. […] Biodiversity is critical for food and agriculture but is under severe threat. Much needs to be done to stop the loss of biodiversity, including through biodiversity-friendly practices and approaches such as organic agriculture and agroecology. […] 338 community-based solutions from over 75 countries showcase biodiversity-friendly farming approaches that work on the ground and provide valuable lessons for the global policy frameworks needed to stem biodiversity loss and to farm more sustainably.
