A new study shows that the GM transformation process in plants is extraordinarily damaging at a genetic and epigenetic level. Much needs to be done to stop the loss of biodiversity, including through biodiversity-friendly practices and approaches such as organic agriculture and agroecology. […] This journal article shows that the US EPA disregarded substantial scientific evidence about glyphosate’s genotoxicity and supports the conclusions of the WHO-IARC that glyphosate is both genotoxic and probably carcinogenic to humans. […] EU Parliament has adopted, with a large majority, several resolutions against approvals for GE maize, oilseed rape and cotton, while calling for higher standards in risk assessment and the strengthening of democratic decision making. […] 338 community-based solutions from over 75 countries showcase biodiversity-friendly farming approaches that work on the ground and provide valuable lessons for the global policy frameworks needed to stem biodiversity loss and to farm more sustainably.
